Skyfall , the 23d James Bond film, hauled in a franchise-record of $87.8 million in its first weekend at U.S. theaters. We at "Sideshow" know it's because Daniel Craig is the most dashing Bond in the history of Bonds. Please, Hollywood, don't let him go! Or, let him go and send him to stay in Philadelphia. Either way . . .   Pretty good for a smock Follow the yellow brick road: Judy Garland 's blue pinafore from The Wizard of Oz nabbed $480,000 at Julien's auction of Hollywood memorabilia over the weekend, $441,600 more than Julie Andrews' Sound of Music dress fetched.

WHAT WITH all the juicy, men-behaving-badly gossip relegated to national (former CIA Director David Petraeus : need we say more?) and business news pages (Lockheed Martin honcho Christopher Kubasik resigned last week over a relationship with an employee), Tattle has to make do with . . . boys behaving mysteriously. Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have broken up - yes, our world hiccupped on its axis, too, when we heard the news over the weekend. But why they've come undone is still in question.

While Octomom Nadya Suleman's money woes continue, she's decided to try online dating. TMZ.com reports that Octo has created an online dating profile for WhatsYourPrice.com, a site where users (formerly called johns) can pay other users to go out with them. In this heat, who wants to stand on a corner? Octo didn't even lie in her profile, even though Tattle finds it a real deal-breaker when we see a woman's profile that says: Have kids: Yes, 14. Want kids: Yes. She said she loves to laugh (with her laugh, that's not a plus)

Searching for a "song of the summer" can be a silly exercise, and the 2012 seasonal mix that is annotated below doesn't set that as a goal. Instead, it means to weave together a playlist of 2012 tunes that runs about as long as one of those full-length burnable CDs that are becoming increasingly anachronistic in a mobile-streaming-Spotifying world where iPods will be obsolete before you know it. The list has its fair share of in-the-news names...

LIKE EVERYTHING else in our celebrity-saturated society, the White House Correspondents Dinner has become a red-carpet affair. For example, Politico invited Charlize Theron and Eva Longoria. Newsweek/The Daily Beast brought in Reese Witherspoon and Viola Davis.

You could say Leon Purvis is living the Justin Bieber dream: the small-town obscurity, the chutzpah, and eventually maybe even the celebrity. While Bieber's star rose from Canada, Purvis hails from working-class Glassboro, where he has invited the teen pop sensation to join him at the prom June 2. As a "bro," not a boyfriend. "He can bring Selena Gomez," says Purvis, 16, referring to Bieber's singer-actress love. "I'll bring a girl, too, although I don't have a date yet. I just want Justin to have a normal night.

COMCAST'S TAKEOVER of pre-"Smash" NBC/Universal came with a price steeper than owning some of network television's crappiest shows. As part of its agreement with the FCC and the Department of Justice, the media giant will launch four minority-owned networks on its cable-TV systems in the next two years. The networks announced yesterday include: * Revolt, a channel conceived by "P. Diddy" Combs and MTV veteran Andy Schuon , and surprisingly, not about an uprising of people who get their Comcast bill.
