IT'S FINALLY here. Alabama at Texas A&M, the rematch. The defending national champions, who haven't lost a road game since November 2010, going to College Station to take on Johnny Football, the first freshman to win a Heisman Trophy, who basically won it by beating the Crimson Tide, 29-24, last November in Tuscaloosa. About the only thing missing is prime time. This one's at 3:30 p.m. on CBS, which feels like some kind of oversight. The Tide, of course, is trying to win a ring for the fourth time in 5 years, and third straight.

Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel ran for two touchdowns, threw for two more and had a Cotton Bowl-record 516 total yards as 10th-ranked Texas A&M wrapped up its first SEC season with a 41-13 win over No. 12 Oklahoma on Friday night in Arlington, Texas. The Aggies (11-2) never trailed after Manziel tiptoed the sideline for a 23-yard TD run on their opening drive of the game. Oklahoma (10-3), which like the Aggies entered the game with a five-game winning streak, went three-and-out on its first three drives after halftime.

NEW YORK - Johnny Football just got himself a way cooler nickname: Johnny Heisman. Just a few days after turning 20, Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel became the first freshman to win the Heisman Trophy, taking college football's top individual prize Saturday. Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o finished a distant second and Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein was third in the voting. In a Heisman race with two nontraditional candidates, Manziel broke through the class barrier and kept Te'o from becoming the first purely defensive player to win it. Manziel drew 474 first-place votes and 2,029 points from the panel of media members and former winners.

Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel put a charge into what had been a rather humdrum Heisman Trophy watch with his outstanding performance last week in the Aggies' 29-24 upset of Alabama. Kansas State QB Collin Klein remains ahead of Manziel and everyone else for now, but mainly because the Wildcats have remained unbeaten and on track for the BCS championship game. There's still room, however, for the unconventional pick - such as Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o. If Te'o can put on a dominating performance next week at Southern California, voters will have to consider him. And yes, we know the trophy's namesake was former Penn player and coach John (Don't Call Me Johnny)

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - AJ McCarron and Alabama came up just short with the game, and probably their national title hopes, on the line Saturday. The top-ranked Crimson Tide rallied from a three-touchdown deficit and nearly took the lead before leaving Bryant-Denny Stadium with a 29-24 loss to Johnny Manziel and No. 15 Texas A&M. Alabama (9-1, 6-1 Southeastern Conference) is down, but coach Nick Saban isn't counting his team out of the national championship race just yet. "Two of the three national championship teams that I coached lost a game," Saban said, counting one at Louisiana State.
