MOST DUFFERS get first-tee jitters. Can you imagine how shaky you'd be if you were golfing with President Obama? Tiger Woods now knows that feeling. The president decided to escape the pressures of the White House by spending the weekend at the Floridian Golf and Yacht Club in Palm City, Fla. While the president was enjoying a few days with his golfing buddies, his wife and daughters were skiing out west. There was no word on Michelle's reaction to her hubby fraternizing with Woods, who was treated for sex addiction after numerous extramarital affairs that led to a divorce from Elin Nordegren.

DUE TO THE FOG that wiped out an entire day of golf, the Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego was never going to end on Sunday. Tiger Woods just made it look as if it was over. Hands thrust in the pockets of his rain pants, Woods walked off Torrey Pines in the chill of twilight with a six-shot lead and only 11 more holes standing in the way of winning on the public course along the Pacific Ocean for the eighth time in his pro career. He drove the ball with superb control in the third round on his way to a 3-under 69 to build a four-shot lead after three rounds.

Tiger Woods is going to have to wait to pursue a seventh win at Torrey Pines. Thick fog forced a long delay Saturday in the third round of the Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego. Players began the round after a three-hour delay, only for the fog to return five minutes after they started. No one finished more than one hole. Officials hoped to finish before dark Sunday. It will be the second of four PGA Tour events this year that went an extra day. The Tournament of Champions was reduced to 54 holes and completed on Tuesday.
