"Nails" won't rot in jail. At least, that's what TMZ, the gossip website, is reporting. Lenny Dykstra, a main man as the Phillies took the Macho Row-d to the World Series in 1993, has been begging his rich celeb friends to bail him out. Literally. He was tossed in the clink this week on 23 felony counts, including grand theft auto and drug charges, and he needs $50,000 - 10 percent of the $500,000 bail - to get released. Unless he wins an appeal today to have the amount reduced.

Michael Jackson not the dad? Claims that Michael Jackson fathered a 31-year-old man named Brandon Howard are untrue, says TMZ. This week, Alki David , founder of FilmOn.com, said he had obtained DNA evidence that proved MJ's paternity. Turns out the lab that supposedly carried out the test is fake. The results are printed on paper that bears the same company logo as the fictional DNA testing lab in the sci-fi pic Terminator Salvation ! David on Friday told TMZ the test is real, and he said the lab added the logo design to make their printouts more photogenic.

In its third weekend, The Lego Movie still leads at the box office, besting 3 Days to Kill and Pompeii on their opening weekends. The animated Warner Bros. film earned $31.5 million, pushing its domestic total past $183 million. Relativity Media's 3 Days to Kill , starring Kevin Costner and Amber Heard , came in second with $12.3 million, and Sony's Pompeii took the third-place slot with $10 million.   Justin justice TMZ says Justin Bieber will reject the plea deal prosecutors in his Miami Beach DUI case have offered - community service, an alcohol ed course, and random drug testing - because, sources tell TMZ, he won't go for any plea that includes probation, meaning the judge can throw the book at him if he screws up. Self-knowledge is a good thing.

El Chapo vs. Sean Penn Are cartel assassins after Sean Penn 's head? The blogosphere is alight with rumors that druglord Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán Loera , who was recaptured Friday after nearly six months on the lam, may blame Penn and Mexican TV star Kate del Castillo for leading cops to him. Penn met with El Chapo in October - no doubt to discuss the finer points of Sergei Eisenstein 's montage. As the New York Times reports, the gangster had never heard of Penn. It seems he agreed to see the American when Castillo, whom he seems to dig, vouched for Penn.

SO MUCH NEWS this week we didn't get into such as the ongoing collateral damage resulting from the recent cyber attack on Sony Pictures Entertainment. Hackers revealed actress Jennifer Lawrence received a lower salary than her male "American Hustle" co-stars and posted emails between Sony co-chair Amy Pascal and movie producer Scott Rudin joking about President Obama 's favorite films. They sounded a little bit racist to some. Read on for more celeb news. Yesterday Scott Stapp , the troubled former Creed front man, claimed to be a CIA agent with one mission in mind: assassinate President Obama , according to a 9-1-1 recording obtained by TMZ. The singer's estranged wife, Jaclyn Stapp , and his sister-in-law called 9-1-1 frantically late last month after he left the house shirtless and began to ride around his Boca Raton, Fla., neighborhood saying he wanted to assassinate Obama, according to a recording released by TMZ. Police determined Stapp didn't show enough signs of mental instability so they did not place him on a psych-hold.

EAGLES CORNERBACK Cary Williams was Ray Rice's teammate for three seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. When Williams was asked to talk about Rice's banishment from the NFL yesterday, after TMZ posted a video of Rice knocking out his then-fiancée and now wife, Janay, that friendship was on Williams' mind, along with his own missteps. "I understand hitting a woman is very, very disrespectful, and it's something I wouldn't want my daughter ever going through," Williams said. "But we gotta also understand people make mistakes.

I DON'T BELIEVE for a hot minute that no one from the NFL ever saw the video of Ray Rice cold-cocking fiancée Janay Palmer last Valentine's Day weekend. If TMZ could get hold of the footage - which shows Palmer, now Rice's wife, taking a punch that slams her into the wall of an elevator at Atlantic City's now-closed Revel Casino Hotel - it's a joke that the NFL's powerful legal eagles couldn't get hold of it, too. But, fine, let's go with the fairy tale. Let's believe that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell imposed an indefinite suspension on Rice as a result of seeing that horrific TMZ video yesterday for the first time.

There's a marvelous scene in the film All the President's Men in which the Washington Post's editors are holding their afternoon meeting, reviewing the day's most important stories and deciding which ones merit front-page placement, when the topic of Watergate comes up. It is still early in the scandal's evolution, and one of the editors argues that "no one cares" about its latest development. Besides, the editor says, if Watergate were really a big deal, we'd put our most seasoned political reporters on the story.
