Rege returning, Dave his guest Regis Philbin, six weeks removed from triple heart-bypass surgery, plans to be back at work Thursday morning as cohost of Live With Regis and Kelly. Philbin's first guest will be David Letterman, also a veteran of bypass surgery. "Very appropriate," Philbin's cohost, Kelly Ripa, said as she announced her partner's return yesterday. Philbin, 75, filled in as a guest host on CBS's Late Show after Letterman had his bypass operation in 2000.

Kiefer, a broken nose, and Brooke Nobody's calling for a congressional investigation, but when it comes to controversy Kiefer Sutherland may be starting to rival Jack Bauer, the terrorism fighter he plays on 24. Sutherland, 42, has been charged with head-butting fashion designer Jack McCollough in a bit of early-morning fun Tuesday at tony New York nightspot SubMercer. Word was that KS had taken offense because McCollough jostled Brooke Shields and knocked her over. Except that's not exactly how it happened, reports celeb gossip site TMZ.com.

Hackers revealed actress Jennifer Lawrence received a lower salary than her male "American Hustle" co-stars and posted emails between Sony co-chair Amy Pascal and movie producer Scott Rudin joking about President Obama 's favorite films. Yesterday Scott Stapp , the troubled former Creed front man, claimed to be a CIA agent with one mission in mind: assassinate President Obama , according to a 9-1-1 recording obtained by TMZ. The singer's estranged wife, Jaclyn Stapp , and his sister-in-law called 9-1-1 frantically late last month after he left the house shirtless and began to ride around his Boca Raton, Fla., neighborhood saying he wanted to assassinate Obama, according to a recording released by TMZ. Police determined Stapp didn't show enough signs of mental instability so they did not place him on a psych-hold.

NEED FIREWORKS for the Fourth of July? Until yesterday, Gilbert Arenas would have been your man. That was before the ex-NBA star was discovered with a pickup truck full of fireworks after being pulled over for speeding in Los Angeles by the California Highway Patrol. According to a TMZ report, he was arrested for speeding (doing 80 mph), driving without a license, and possession of illegal fireworks. A TMZ cameraman said approximately 20 cartons of fireworks were removed from the bed of the pickup.

Another chapter has been added to the Allen Iverson saga. The former 76ers star is being accused by his ex-wife, Tawanna Iverson, of abducting his own children, according to several media reports. The website TMZ first reported the story. Tawanna Iverson filed court documents in Atlanta claiming that her ex-husband failed to return their five children, who range in age from 3 to 16, after a five-day vacation in Charlotte, N.C. Iverson is fighting the allegations in court, TMZ reported.
