NEED FIREWORKS for the Fourth of July? Until yesterday, Gilbert Arenas would have been your man. That was before the ex-NBA star was discovered with a pickup truck full of fireworks after being pulled over for speeding in Los Angeles by the California Highway Patrol. According to a TMZ report, he was arrested for speeding (doing 80 mph), driving without a license, and possession of illegal fireworks. A TMZ cameraman said approximately 20 cartons of fireworks were removed from the bed of the pickup.

Another chapter has been added to the Allen Iverson saga. The former 76ers star is being accused by his ex-wife, Tawanna Iverson, of abducting his own children, according to several media reports. The website TMZ first reported the story. Tawanna Iverson filed court documents in Atlanta claiming that her ex-husband failed to return their five children, who range in age from 3 to 16, after a five-day vacation in Charlotte, N.C. Iverson is fighting the allegations in court, TMZ reported.

Khloe Kardashian has been kashiered, kanned, kicked to the kurb. The producers of Fox's The X Factor announced Monday that they had pink-slipped Khloe as kohost, confirming a rumor that had been noised about for the last two months. "We really enjoyed working with her and wish her all the best in her future endeavors," the official statement bleated politely. No warning about watching out for the screen door. Khloe's cohost Mario Lopez survived to host another day and will be back to welcome viewers to the show's third season in the fall.

The U.S. ambassador to the world - who visited with North Korea's supreme leader Kim Jong Un last month - is off to Rome, where he hopes to get an audience with the new pope. Of course, the cardinals haven't actually elected a new pontiff, but why let details get in the way of a good story. Rodman told TMZ on Tuesday that his "people" are trying to arrange a get-together with whoever succeeds Pope Benedict XVI. "I want to be anywhere in the world that I'm needed," Rodman told TMZ. " . . . I want to spread a message of peace and love throughout the world.

The president decided to escape the pressures of the White House by spending the weekend at the Floridian Golf and Yacht Club in Palm City, Fla. While the president was enjoying a few days with his golfing buddies, his wife and daughters were skiing out west. There was no word on Michelle's reaction to her hubby fraternizing with Woods, who was treated for sex addiction after numerous extramarital affairs that led to a divorce from Elin Nordegren.

Former 76ers star Allen Iverson has lost his $4.5 million Atlanta mansion to foreclosure, according to TMZ. The gossip website says Iverson allegedly defaulted on a $1.2 million mortgage and tried to prevent an auction but failed. Iverson sold his six-bedroom Gladwyne mansion for $2.6 million in 2010. The Denver Post reported in 2011 that his Colorado home went into foreclosure after he stopped paying the mortgage while owing well over $2 million. The 38-year-old Iverson, who last week declined an offer from the D-League Texas Legends, reportedly has a trust fund worth $32 million that he is prohibited from touching until he turns 55 and draws a $1 million yearly stipend.

British authorities have decided not to prosecute Aussie DJs Mel Greig and Michael Christian , who impersonated members of the royal family in a prank call to London's King Edward VII's Hospital on Dec. 4. Posing as Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles , they asked after the pregnant Kate Middleton . Jacintha Saldanha , the nurse who originally took the call, committed suicide three days later. (The reasons have never been clarified.) Reports suggested the DJs might be charged with manslaughter, but prosecutors on Friday said there were no grounds.

L IAM HEMSWORTH and Amber Heard shot a scene at the Four Seasons on Monday for the corporate espionage thriller "Paranoia. " You may recall that the movie, which also stars Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman , was being shot in town over the summer but that filming was interrupted because Hemsworth had another movie assignment, "Catching Fire," the second "Hunger Games" film. It seems Hemsworth's fiancee, Miley Cyrus , who stayed with him in Washington Square for more than a month, did not tag along for the remaining shoot, which we're told will take about three weeks.
