Tracy Morgan's comeback Tracy Morgan , who has been out of circulation since his June 2014 car crash, won't take credit for the idea to make his showbiz comeback at the Emmy Awards. "This was my publicist Lewis Kay 's idea. He said, 'What you want to do is let Hollywood welcome you home,' " says Morgan, 46, who was received with a standing ovation on Sunday night's telecast. Speaking to GQ, Morgan says, "I loved that idea. I loved the idea of getting back with my community, the show business community.

It's getting hard out here for a comedian. Just ask Tracy Morgan. "People are ultrasensitive now," he says on the phone from Vegas, where he's making a stop on his Turn It Funny stand-up tour. "It seems like you can't say anything about anyone. "Everyone has an opinion. People comment. That's social media," he says, hacking repeatedly. He took his hay fever with him on the plane from Jersey. Morgan is more vulnerable to getting caught on tape than most. It's not that the Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock veteran doesn't have a filter.

I'M BEGINNING to feel sorry for Tracy Morgan. It can't be easy to breathe when your foot's that far down your throat. Plus, there's the "30 Rock" star's LGBT apology tour, which hit a snag this weekend, when, according to the New York Times , he told an audience at a Times Square comedy club: "Don't ever mess with women who have retarded kids," because, he added, "Them young retarded males is strong. They're strong like chimps. " Morgan's at least partly right. He shouldn't mess with us. Some of us might review TV shows for a living.

FEDERAL investigators yesterday were looking into commercial trucking and other safety issues in the wake of a deadly chain-reaction crash on the New Jersey Turnpike that left Tracy Morgan and two others critically injured and comedian James "Jimmy Mack" McNair , a friend and mentor to Morgan, dead. Kevin Roper , a Wal-Mart truck driver from Georgia, was charged with death by auto and four counts of assault by auto. Authorities said Roper apparently failed to slow for traffic ahead early Saturday in Cranbury Township and swerved his big rig into the back of Morgan's chauffeured Mercedes limo bus, flipping it over.

Update: Tracy Morgan crash The Wal-Mart truck driver alleged to have caused Saturday's crash on the New Jersey Turnpike on Wednesday has pleaded not guilty to several felony counts, including vehicular homicide. Kevin Roper appeared with his lawyer, David Glassman , before Superior Court Judge Bradley Ferencz in New Brunswick. The driver is accused of causing the crash that killed one and left four others injured, including actor-comic Tracy Morgan . Roper is out on $50,000 bail.

Morgan, recovering from a New Jersey Turnpike car accident that killed his friend James McNair , made a surprise appearance to present the night's final award to the best TV drama. Variety , however, reported that Morgan's feel-good speech ticked off attorney David Jay Glassman , who's representing Kevin Roper , the Walmart trucker charged in the crash.

T RACY MORGAN has settled his lawsuit against Walmart over a highway crash that killed comedian James "Jimmy Mack" McNair and left Morgan and two friends seriously injured. A filing in federal court in Newark yesterday refers to a confidential settlement reached by the two sides. Walmart called it an "amicable settlement. " Details weren't disclosed. A Walmart truck slammed into the back of a limo van carrying Morgan and the others back from a show in Delaware last June.

Tattle has some friends who take "Star Wars" seriously. Then there's Charles Roy . Roy, of Helena, Mont., was arrested, according to People magazine, after he allegedly threatened to shoot one of his Facebook "friends" for "spoiling" some of the new film's plot points. No "like. " The 18-year-old was detained last Friday on a single felony assault with a weapon charge. He has since been released on $10,000 bail. According to the arrest report obtained by People , Roy began talking about "The Force Awakens" last Thursday with a boy he'd befriended on the social networking site.

Sixteen nominations, one win. Jon Hamm, the Susan Lucci of primetime drama, got his "Mad Men" Emmy last night, and, along with a first-time Emmy win for  Oscar nominee  Viola Davis for "How to Get Away With Murder" and a surprise appearance by Tracy Morgan, it almost made up for three hours of agreeable speeches, (mostly) expected winners and comedians desperately trying to find entertainment amid all those thank-yous for HBO. Kunis stalker on the run Police in Los Angeles County are on the lookout for a man convicted of stalking actor Mila Kunis . One Stuart Lynn Dunn , 30, escaped Saturday from the Olive Vista Behavioral Health Center in Pomona, Calif., where he had been confined since January 2013 after pleading guilty to one felony count of stalking the Black Swan star. Los Angeles County sheriff's Lt. Martin Rodriguez told the Los Angeles Times that Kunis has been notified of the escape.

More leave in Duggar exodus Reality show star Josh Duggar 's rapid transformation from conservative model of propriety and family values to alleged sex offender may very well end his family's TV career. Duggar, 27, bright son of the fam featured on TLC's 19 Kids and Counting , was accused of molesting five young girls as a teen (including his sisters). He reportedly was turned in to police by his father, Jim Bob, after he was caught in a young girl's room in 2005. TLC has suspended the show but hasn't actually killed it. Still, the show has been losing advertisers daily in a steady exodus led by General Mills Inc., Payless Shoesource Inc., Choice Hotels International, Ace Hardware, and David's Bridal.
