Most young marrieds reminisce about their wedding. Few do it on the witness stand, testifying in the assault trial of their best man. At least for Michael Sofka and Nicole Sannuti-Sofka, recounting those memories at best man Matthew Sofka's trial Thursday ended better than the post-wedding party three years ago, when Matthew Sofka was arrested for assaulting a Philadelphia police sergeant during an alcohol-fueled melee at the Sheraton Society Hill....

THREE YEARS AGO, cops rushed to the Sheraton Philadelphia Society Hill for radio calls of a disturbance and came upon a chaotic scene of multiple fights among members of one or two wedding parties. Yesterday, two men who had been charged with aggravated assault - for a police sergeant who suffered a concussion in the melee - faced a nonjury trial. But before the trial, Brian Lanza, 32, opted to plead guilty to a simple-assault charge. As part of his plea deal, he received two years' probation.

D EAR ABBY: I recently started a new job, and the past three months have been wonderful! One co-worker in particular has contributed to that. He's a tall, handsome man with a great personality. We get along wonderfully, socialize outside of work, and we flirt . . . a lot. We have briefly talked about being friends with benefits, but I'm not sure how I feel about it. I have never been FWB with anyone before, and I am very nervous about the possible downside. I am very attracted to this co-worker, but I also consider him a great friend who could potentially someday be even more than a friend.

Surrounded by a verdant canopy of trees, the Fairmount Park Horticulture Center sits about 500 meters behind the finish line of the Philadelphia TriRock Triathlon on Martin Luther King Drive. To the majority of the field, the building is little more than another landmark along the historic course. But to Katherine Rosenberg, 34, and John Stolz, 39, the building is a little more important: It will host their wedding just over eight hours after the duo competes in the sprint distance triathlon race Saturday.

It's not "The Pearses" and "The Grahams. " It's not "yours" and "mine. " If Wendy and Bill divide the kids at all, it's by age: the Littles, the Middles, and the Bigs. And the emblem of their family is the sand art that all eight children created at the couple's November 2014 wedding. Starting with a base of beige sand from Wendy's and Bill's favorite childhood beaches - Ocean City, N.J., and Cape Cod, respectively - each child sifted a different color of sand into a heart-shaped glass vase that now rests on their mantel.

The Bridgeport man charged with crashing a wedding party in Montgomery County and stealing thousands of dollars worth of wedding gifts has been charged with theft from another reception. Joseph Patrick Franzone Jr., 35, was arraigned in District Court on Wednesday on one charge of theft by unlawful taking and one charge of receiving stolen property. On June 22, Upper Providence police received a report that an unknown man had walked into a reception at the RiverCrest Golf Club & Preserve and taken a wedding cake card box that contained about $9,000 in cash and checks given to the newlyweds as gifts, authorities said Wednesday.

While I'm away, readers give the advice. On informing young people they won't be in a family member's wedding party: Fifty years ago, as a teenager, I was not included in a cousin's wedding party, but another cousin was. My mother was furious at her brother, the bride's father, and she communicated to me that my appearance at the wedding would be a humiliation for me. I foolishly RSVP'd that I would "definitely not" be attending the...

When it came to their wedding to-do list, Antoinette Marie Johnson and Tyler Westnedge started with the standard fare: Book a venue, select flowers, arrange dress fittings, hire a caterer. But then, there was more to be done: Create a hashtag, develop a social media brand, and connect with more than 30,000 friends, relatives, business contacts, and total strangers along the way. Over several months leading up to their April wedding in Fairmount Park, the couple took to sites like Twitter, using the hashtag #atwed.

NOT EVERY wedding involves a violinist playing while suspended in a crystal-covered cage. But Flyers owner Ed Snider , 80, doesn't celebrate his wedding every day. Sources say that Snider and Lin Spivak , 46, now the fourth Mrs. Snider, actually tied the knot on Valentine's Day in an intimate ceremony (aw!), but held a party for their 160 closest friends Saturday at the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology. A guest at the wedding told me that the couple's decor highlighted the museum, instead of hiding it. A Roman mosaic from Lod, Israel (see it up until May 12)
